Roundabout’s 40th Birthday Appeal

Roundabout has launched an appeal asking our supporters to help change the lives of some of the most vulnerable young people in our city.

As we celebrate our 40th birthday, we are looking for supporters to donate £40 per year. That equates to just £3.33 a month – around the same price as a fancy coffee. To put it into context, £40 would buy four young people a gas or electricity token for when they first move into their own home and £3.33 would buy enough fresh food to make several healthy meals for a young person.

Funds raised from the appeal will contribute towards Roundabout’s yearly fundraising target of £200,000 which we must raise to ensure we can continue to be there for young people and end youth homelessness in Sheffield.

“The work our charity does can change the lives of young people,” explains Ben Keegan, Roundabout’s CEO.

“We aim to prevent and reduce homelessness in our city by offering life skills along with a safe place to stay. This means when they leave us, they are able to live safely and independently.”

The charity’s work is a lifeline for many and supports young people to prepare for a better future, helping to break the cycle of homelessness. Since they started on January 4th 1977, the charity has helped over 10,000 young people.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support we receive from the people of Sheffield,” says Ruth Gage, Roundabout’s Fundraising and Communications Manager.

“It’s thanks to their generosity that we’re able to provide a high standard of service to help vulnerable young people in our society.

“We are delighted to have been able to help so many people over the past forty years, but we need support to be able to continue to be there to help those in need.”

“We’d love our fortieth year to lead us one step closer to ending youth homelessness.”
