Bangers and Cash

On Wednesday 31 January 2018, Roundabout officially revealed their biggest ever fundraising event – Bangers and Cash.

Taking place in September 2018, Bangers and Cash is the UK’s first art road show banger rally!

Roundabout, which celebrated its 40th birthday last year, is looking for 40 businesses to sponsor an old banger and take part. Teams of three intrepid adventurers from each business will travel 1219 miles from Sheffield to Monte Carlo in an old banger, each with a unique design painted on the bonnet by a local artist.

The idea of this unique fundraising event came from Goo Design‘s Matt Cockayne, a local Sheffield artist who has painted the fantastic promotional car for Roundabout, shown below. Also partners in the event are Sheffield City Council and Becks & co.

Bangers and Cash will take the city on a journey, uniting companies, artists and the community during the summer of 2018 as the bonnets of the old bangers will be exhibited in a prominent Sheffield location throughout August.

The rally will then take place from 21st to 25th September, after which the bonnets will be returned to Sheffield to be auctioned as unique pieces of art to raise vital funds for Roundabout.

Ben Keegan, Chief Executive at Roundabout explains, “We’re really excited about Bangers and Cash as it’s an incredible opportunity for Roundabout to raise vital funds but also to increase awareness of youth homelessness which continues to be prevalent in our city.”

“We are working with more young people than ever, housing and supporting those young people who need it most. The funds we raise through Bangers and Cash will enable us to extend our youth homeless prevention work across the Sheffield City Region so we can work with even more young people.”
