Persimmon Homes donate £1,000 for defibrillators

Persimmon Homes have donated £1,000 to Roundabout to help us purchase a life-saving set of defibrillators.

Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire have gifted the cash as part of their nationwide Community Champions scheme.

Simon Whalley, Sales Director for Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire, said the scheme was a way of supporting people across every city, town and village where the company builds new homes.

“We are delighted to grant the wish of Roundabout and provide them with the funds to buy a defibrillator. They are such a vital piece of equipment, which can help to restart a heart when a patient suffers a cardiac arrest.”

The scheme is a national programme where clubs, groups and good causes can apply for funding up to the value of £1,000 to match money they have already raised themselves.

Ruth Gage, our Fundraising and Communications Manager, said: “We are extremely grateful for the donation given to us by Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire.

“Many of the clients we help are at risk of potentially needing to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) because of the ever increasing use of new psychoactive substances, formerly known as legal highs.

“Persimmon’s donation will mean we can begin to invest in a set of AED’s that could save the life of a vulnerable young person.”
