Demelza has been volunteering at Roundabout since January 2013 in our Supporting Tenants team, and is doing a wonderful job supporting young people who use the service. When asked about her experience of volunteering at Roundabout Demelza said:

  • It has made me remember how far I have come in my own personal life. It puts my efforts over the past ten years into perspective.
  • I feel more part of the community.
  • It has had a positive impact on my children who can now appreciate their own life a bit more. It makes them kinder and they have been able to understand the inequalities of life and it motivates them to be kind and to help others.
  • I have met some great people.
  • The training I have received has been excellent. And I feel much better equipped to handle problems and my skills are constantly developing. I am also getting invaluable experience.
  • I have felt very supported every very step of the way.
  • It has increased my self-esteem.
  • I have felt like I am making a difference and I feel more positive about people and I have more faith in society.

Thank you Demelza and all of our volunteers for your hard work and dedication to Roundabout and the young people we support.
