GB Boxing Coaches Take On 50-Round Challenge for Roundabout

Two of GB Boxing’s top coaches, Gary Hale and Malcolm Maciver, will take on a huge fitness feat on Wednesday 26th November 2025 — completing 50 three-minute rounds on the boxing bag to raise money for Roundabout and Sheffield Mind.

The “Box-a-Thon” will take place at the English Institute of Sport Sheffield, home of Great Britain’s Olympic boxing programme. Hale and Maciver will be joined by special guests including Olympic gold medallists Lauren Price and Galal Yafai, Olympic bronze medallist Richie Woodhall, members of the GB Boxing squad, and service users from both charities — all taking turns on the bags.

Funds raised will support Roundabout’s work preventing youth homelessness and Sheffield Mind’s mental health and wellbeing services across the city.

“We wanted to do something that would challenge us while supporting two amazing causes. Roundabout and Sheffield Mind make a real difference to people’s lives, and this is our way of giving back.” – Gary Hale

At Roundabout, we support more than 400 young people across South Yorkshire every day, helping them build brighter, more stable futures. Through our partnership with GB Boxing, young people supported by Roundabout have the chance to take part in monthly boxing sessions — using the power of sport to build confidence, resilience, and wellbeing.
