A record-breaking Night at the Musicals

The finest theatre talents from across South Yorkshire filled the Lyceum last month as they performed theirs socks off to raise over £27,000 for Roundabout.
Host Dan Walker was also joined by a star-studded line up of West Enders to complete the programme – including Sheffield-born original Billy Elliot, James Lomas, and Wilf Scolding of The Game of Thrones fame.
“Every year we say that the show gets bigger and better but this time it really did exceed all expectations and our audience got to experience a night to remember,” said Denise Lawrenson, Roundabout’s Events Fundraiser.
“This was the first time we have taken the show to the Lyceum and it’s brilliant that such a memorable evening saw us break our fundraising target and raise an outstanding £27,232 to support 16-25 year old’s at risk of homelessness.
“We can’t thank our fabulous singers and dancers enough for their show stopping performances that had the audience on its feet for more than one standing ovation throughout the evening. And we have to give special thanks to Dan Walker for once again being such a wonderful host and for making the evening run so smoothly.
“Perhaps the biggest thank you of the night, though, should go to our fantastic supporters, who this year helped us to raise more money than ever before… It’s a great result and one that will go towards supporting some of our region’s most vulnerable young people.”
The funds raised at this year’s A Night at the Musicals will go directly to supporting young people at risk of homelessness across South Yorkshire – providing them with vital shelter, support and life skills, ultimately empowering them to live independent and fulfilling lives.
