About Roundabout First Step

Role Description

Sheffield First Step is a small housing project which is all about creating a safe space for young people who are facing homelessness in Sheffield.

We have around 35 small, self-contained flats and studios and young people who live here also have access to a friendly support worker who will help them manage their tenancy and offer support as needed.

There are two referral pathways for Sheffield First Step. The first is for young people who might be facing homelessness whilst completing their studies at school or college. First Step acts as a stepping stone in young people’s journey to success, offering a safe place to call home while they focus on achieving their goals. The second pathway is for young refugees who have recently been awarded their refugee status. We recognise that young refugees face specific challenges in settling into their new environment and provide targeted tenancy support to help them manage their first tenancy in the UK.

We assess all potential tenants on a case-by-case basis so please contact us to find out more.
