Krazy Races Meet the teams
Meet the teams taking to the streets in their handcrafted soap-box carts at the first Sheffield Krazy Races this June!
Meet the
Teams
Gripple: Ideas & Innovation
We’re The Badger Brigade. A team of engineers from Gripple’s Ideas & Innovation department, ditching our day jobs (temporarily) to build something a little more… furry.
For Sheffield’s inaugural Krazy Race, we’re building a gravity powered badger. It’s bold, ambitious, and if our calculations are slightly off, it could be totally unhinged. Either way, we’re fully committed.
Support the Badger Brigade and help us turn engineering, enthusiasm and a totally random idea into something genuinely meaningful.
Meet Gripple
Gripple: Moulding Monkeys
We’re the Moulding Monkey team a group of hands on technical operatives with a passion for all things engineering! Specialising in spring and injection moulding, we spend our days crafting precision components and solving complex production challenges. When we’re not on the factory floor, we’re channelling that same creativity and teamwork into building our “krazy” car for the Roundabout Charity Race. With our mix of technical know how, problem solving skills, and a good dose of fun, we’re ready to engineer our way to the finish line all in support of a fantastic cause!
Meet Gripple
Gripple: Full Cast Ahead
We are Gripple Hellaby – a team of engineering wizards who live and breathe diecasting, CNC machining, and all things precision. Backed by our expert squad of engineers, we have got the know-how, experience, and imagination to turn metal and ideas into magic. Whether it’s crafting flawless components and tooling or pushing the limits of our race-winning cart, we thrive on innovation, teamwork, and a bit of friendly engineering competition. At Gripple Hellaby, we don’t just build parts, we build performance, passion, and the occasional engineering marvel that makes heads turn.
Meet Gripple
Dragon Express
Our team is made up of people of all ages from the community and a variety of business backgrounds. We are a diverse group, bringing together a wide range of skills, experience, and perspectives, all united by a common passion for making a positive difference. The combination of the team allows us to approach the challenge with both innovation and enthusiasm, whether it’s designing and building our race entry or promoting our fundraising efforts. And we aim to have plenty of fun along the way!

B BRAUN: Braun to be Wild
Our team consists of four talented Instrument Repair Technician apprentices from the Technical Services department: Brooke, Robbie, Jack, and Jack. Combining technical expertise with imaginative design, they are leading the charge to engineer, build, and race our medical-themed cart. Passionate about innovation and collaboration, this team embodies the spirit of B. Braun Medical UK.
Meet B Braun
Reclaimed Brick
We are a local brick yard that spend our days whizzing around on forklift trucks, and fancy our chances at building a ‘brick’ go kart to raise money for charity.
Meet the team
ARUP: Live Laugh Ove
Arup is a global consultancy, planning, designing, engineering the future.
Meet ARUP
Stagecoach Yorkshire
Our team is made up of a diverse mix of talent from across Stagecoach Yorkshire — an Operations Manager, an Engineering Manager, two experienced Engineers and an enthusiastic Apprentice, all bringing a unique set of skills (and plenty of friendly banter) to the workshop. It’s the first time we’ve taken on a project like this, and we’re excited for the challenge it brings, the opportunity to learn something new, and the laughter we know will come with every late-night tweak, failed idea and breakthrough moment. Together, we’re ready to build, race and hopefully cross the finish line still in one piece!
Meet Stagecoach
Sheffield United Community Foundation
The team is made up of some of our staff across a range of departments as we show collaboration in this venture. Go Blades!
Meet SUCF
GritStone Financial Planning
Sheffield-based Financial Advisors based in the amazing Park Hill complex, on a hill down which the Gritstone Mobile might be observed as we refine its racing credentials at the start of summer 2026.

Nprime
A loose collective of vagabonds and rogues, generously self-identifying as engineers.
A wandering band of rogues whose designs fail peer review, gravity, and basic maths. Vagabonds armed with CAD, unsupervised by knowledge. People who think ‘engineering judgement’ means guessing with conviction.
Meet Nprime
M and J Group
We’ve got Adam who is the director at MandJ AKA THE GAFFA!
Then we have Ashley, Operations manager, he’s the organised one.
Matthew is our fabrication foreman, always tussling with the doorman.
Brandon is our welder, the MIG that sticks us together.
Colin is our newest member, let’s hope he lasts the race.
Meet M and J
1101
Just as gravity powers our kart downhill, momentum drives everything we do.
On race day we’ll rely on the slope for speed, but for our customers we deliver that drive through practical advice, modern technology, and dependable security and support.
Meet 1101
Wacky Welders
From concept to completion Elecfab provide a wide range of bespoke sheet metal & general fabrication services.
Our team are a lot like building a soap box – everyone has a role and the parts have to work together, all the while taking our work seriously but never taking ourselves too seriously!
Meet Elecfab
MRMK Blade Runners
We’re the MRMK Blade Runners – a Sheffield-based team from MRMK Ltd, manufacturers of precision machine knives proudly made in Sheffield.
This time, we’re swapping the factory floor for the downhill track at Sheffield Krazy Races, bringing plenty of team spirit, engineering creativity, and hopefully enough steering ability to make it to the finish line in one piece.
We’re also proud to be supporting Roundabout – South Yorkshire’s youth homelessness charity – helping vulnerable young people get the support they need to build brighter futures.
Built with Sheffield pride and powered by pure optimism, the MRMK Blade Runners are ready to race.
Meet MRMK
Kids Invent Stuff
We are Kids Invent Stuff, a YouTube channel that brings children’s invention ideas to life.
Led by Ruth Amos, an award-winning inventor and engineer, our team of makers, designers, and educators turn imaginative ideas from young people into real, working creations.
From concept to build, we combine engineering expertise with creativity and storytelling to show that anyone, at any age, can be an inventor.
Meet the team
Best Solicitors
We’re Best Solicitors, swapping suits for safety helmets and legal arguments for gravity-defying turns. For Krazy Races Sheffield, we’re building our own slightly questionable but enthusiastically engineered kart and throwing ourselves head-first down the course for a great cause. While our day jobs involve supporting families and tackling serious issues, today is all about teamwork, creativity, and a healthy disregard for sensible speed. We’re here to have fun, raise money for an incredible local charity, and prove that solicitors can be fast — just preferably downhill and on wheels.

The Roundabout Ravers
Roundabout’s Rotherham Team have a fun soapbox lined up with entertainement that everyone will ‘rave’ about!
