We were very lucky to have a celebrity visit our hostel last week!
The well-known rapper, Fatman Scoop, visited our hostel one evening last week to meet some of our young people.
The young people enjoyed giving him a tour of the hostel and he then played a bit of basketball with them outside.
“I like this place,” explained Scoop.
“It has a nice, warm, feel to it. It doesn’t feel like a hostel to me. It’s a nice environment for all the young people to grow and develop in.”
The American artist then sat in our lounge with the young people, asking them about what they want to do in the future and offering advice.
One of our young people, Sterling, is currently at college studying music production and he really enjoyed playing some songs for Scoop, discussing different artists.
“Having Scoop visit the hostel was amazing,” explained Sterling.
“He was really friendly and happy to speak to us for ages. I really enjoyed being able to play him some of my favourite tracks.
“He even asked me to email him some songs over for his next set!”
