Leesa donates mattresses to Hostel & No 11

The renovation of our Number 11 (No 11) property, part of Roundabout’s hostel, was completed in November 2016. We wanted to make sure that the flats provide a safe place accompanied with a high standard of living, to allow young people to progress towards independence.

Several organisations helped us complete the furnishing to a high standard, including Leesa.

The mattress company based near Manchester is dedicated to helping those in need through their ‘one-ten’ scheme. For every ten mattresses they sell, they donate one to a worthy cause, particularly those that help the homeless and vulnerable in society.

After being introduced to Roundabout, they kindly donated eight brand new custom-made mattresses for all the young people living in the new No 11 property, ensuring they all have a comfortable place to sleep.

“The mattresses we received from Leesa made a huge difference to the standard of accommodation we were able to offer the young people living in the new renovated flats,” explains Rose Parchment, the manager of Roundabout’s Hostel, located next door to the No 11 property.

“Having a good quality mattress meant a lot to the young people, and allowed them to settle into the flats and really feel at home.”

A good night’s sleep is a vital part of a healthy lifestyle which is something we promote to our young people, along with life skills such as cooking and budgeting.

Leesa have since offered to replace the mattresses in our core hostel too meaning we are able to offer high quality accommodation throughout the whole hostel.

So far, Leesa has donated over an incredible 9,000 mattresses to different causes. In addition, the organisation participates in numerous local community events and initiatives, and staff are given time off to help at local charities. David Wolfe, the CEO of Leesa, says “Giving back to our community is a privilege we never take for granted. It adds a sense of purpose to our goals.”
