How your donation helps young people

Roundabout is nationally recognised for its high standard of support and innovation with homeless young people, and is Sheffield’s longest running homeless charity and has worked with over 10,000 young people since 1977.

Below are some examples of how much it costs to run our services. Every donation, no matter how small will make a huge difference to the work we do.

£5 can provide a young person with a small food parcel or a gas or electric token when they first move into their home.

£10 can provide childcare to allow a Supporting Tenants client to attend meetings where they can have their say about Roundabout services. Providing childcare removes that barrier to them taking part in meetings to discuss things such as policy reviews, who they recruit and shaping the service Roundabout provides.

£20 per week enables all residents in the Hostel to attend weekly ‘gym & swim’ sessions, improving their health and well-being.

£50 provides breakfast for all residents in the hostel for one week.

£100 provides a home starter pack when a young person moves into their own tenancy

£500 pays for the complete re-decoration of one of the Supported Houses in the community that the young people move into out of the hostel. They are involved in the process – choosing colours etc.

£1000 would fully furnish a bedroom in our emergency hostel, and provide a safe place for vulnerable young people to stay.

£5,000 can sponsor our hostel backyard for three years and provide an outside space for the young people to socialise and give them the room to exercise and grow their own vegetables.
