AK Estates support Roundabout Sleep Out event

THE team AK Estates may know all there is to know about property but now they are about to discover what it’s like not to have any sort of roof over your head.

The independent Sheffield and North East Derbyshire residential and commercial estate agents have selected Roundabout as one of their chosen charities and to kick off their fundraising, the team have signed up for our Sleep Out event in May.

“It seemed to us that there should be a link between a business that specialises in property and a charity that provides a home for people when they need it most,” said AK Estates Managing Director Adrian Parkin.

“We are a local business who want to support local causes and the work that Roundabout does is something we are very happy to give our backing to.

“We can’t say we’ll have the most comfortable night of the year sleeping outdoors but we will be raising money for a fantastic organisation and gaining some insight into what it must be like to face homlessness.”

Our forth Sleep Out event is being held at CADS Works, the Creative Arts and Development Space in Smithfield, on May 20.

The first half of the evening will feature fun, games, food, entertainment and music.

Then from midnight the real challenge will begin, with each participant aiming to raise at least £150 in sponsorship as they experienced the discomfort of life in the cold and dark.
