Earl from DBL to Sleep Out for Roundabout!

The team at family-owned transport business DBL is extremely proud of their local roots and have actively supported our charity over the years.

The managing director of DBL, David Clarkson, has previously raised more than £3,500 by taking part in our last two Sleep Out events, in April and November last year.

Now, it’s the turn of their sales director, Earl Robinson, who will get sponsored to sleep rough for one night with other teams of participants at CADS Works on Friday 20th May.

“Roundabout is a fantastic local charity and one which we have been proud to support for a number of years,” said Earl.

“I hope that the event can go some way to raising some much needed funds and awareness for the charity as they work they do is truly inspiring.”

Starting at 8pm, the first half of the evening will feature fun, games, food, entertainment and music. Then from midnight the real challenge will begin, with each participant aiming to raise at least £150 in sponsorship as they experience the discomfort of life in the cold.

“Of course an event like this cannot truly replicate what it is like to be lonely, frightened, cold and homeless,” said Ruth Gage, Roundabout’s Fundraising and Communications Manager.

“Yet it can help to make a real difference to those many young people who, through no fault of their own, face these terrible challenges every day.

“It’s the support of individuals and businesses such as DBL Logistics which allow us to carry on our work in the city and their continued support is something we are extremely grateful for.”
